Here, heated and molten glass is placed into a glass mold at the end of the blowpipe, known as a gather. The artisan carefully rotates, inflates, and swings the blowpipe while keeping control of the temperature of the gather and incorporating air into the glass. This process lets the glass take the intended shape or effect of the mold, revealing a piece that is steeped in artisanal value!
